Most people first get excited about the market when they hear about a stock that has gone through the roof making other people rich overnight. Those of us that were not along for the ride are left asking ourselves why we did not buy that same stock.

Finding the big winners takes a lot of work and a lot of research. You cannot buy established companies and expect to see double digit returns because these companies are already fairly valued. The secret is to explore cheap stock trading because that is where the big winners are hiding. And they are waiting for you to find them.

For a stock to have a meteoric rise, it needs to start out cheap. And you need to find out about it before the rest of the world catches on. Cheap stock trading takes a lot of research and you have to be ready to pull the trigger when you find something with potential. This type of investing is inherently more risky than buying blue chips, but you have to place your bets on the long shots if you want to hit the big money.

These stocks will not make the nightly news, but if you follow stock market news you will find stories of hot new small cap stocks making huge gains in hours or days. That is usually the day the general public became aware of that particular stock and the cheap stock trading went crazy until the stock was quickly no longer cheap.

Cheap stock trading is not the same as gambling, but it does have a lot of the same risks. The difference is that you can research what you are buying to make educated choices, but do not fool yourself into thinking that you can research away the risk.

Any stock volatile enough to double in a day could also go belly up the next. The market has calmed down a bit since the beginning of the recent recession reality check, but there are still plenty of roller coaster rides out there.

The good news about cheap stock trading is that even though it is risky, the stocks are cheap by definition so your risk is limited to a smaller amount of money. There are plenty of people out there making smart calculated choices and being rewarded with hundreds and thousands of dollars of extra income every year from something they are doing for fun in their free time.

Just don't make the mistake of thinking that is easy. Spend the time, do the research and get started with cheap stock trading. You might end up as one of the lucky ones that everyone else is jealous of.
