However, you cannot let a challenge like this deter you if you are determined to be
a successful stock trader. In fact, you have to be as dedicated to learning the stock market as you are going to be when you are trading on it. Why? Well, think about it. If you put your money into the market and then the instant it shifts slightly you pull it out and quit you are never going to see your portfolio grow. Instead, you have to be prepared to weather the storm.
The truth is that though learning the stock market may seem like a huge undertaking, it will only be hard until you learn it! Then
it will be easy. The best way to begin is to get yourself a book on the basics of the stock market. Find one that is written by a reputable author, and that is not rooted in the logic of a get rich scheme. After you read that book, get a different one from a complete different perspective.
The truth is that you will never stop learning the stock market and that is part of the excitement that it has. Remember, that though you may start with a book that is the stock market
for dummies you will eventually progress to more in depth manuals to help you navigate your stock trading career.
Do not feel bad about what your current knowledge level is. Instead, choose materials to help you at that level. Once you feel confident then progress to materials that are a little
more advanced. You do not want to start with a text that is for the advanced trader if you do not know the vocabulary and principals that it will assume you know.
Learning the
stock market is a building block process. So take the time to learn those vocabulary words. Once you know them those previously complicated books will begin to make sense. It is a little like Shakespeare. When you first start reading it you may have to think a little harder about what it means, but after a while you will find that you simply understand!
